X-MEN: FIRST CLASS Director Matthew Vaughn Says DEADPOOL 3 Will "Save the Whole Marvel Universe"
Deadpool 3 is easily the most anticipated Marvel Studios movie that’s being developed, it’s a movie that fans all know is going to be good and unique. The Deadpool films break the rules, and they experiment with different aspects of storytelling. The creative teams are always thinking outside of the box with the franchise, so we know it’s not going to be like anything we’ve seen before.
With the superhero genre being in a funk right now with the comic book movie fatigue, audiences are looking for something that breaks the mold of everything that we’ve been seeing in recent years. X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn recently shared his excitement for the movie, and also shared that he thinks that Deadpool 3 will save the MCU. While speaking to BroBible, Vaughn said:
“That’s going to be the jolt… the Marvel universe is about to have a jolt of them and it’s going to bring that body back to life… I think Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are about to save the whole Marvel universe.”
Vaughn also said he hopes the movie establishes a place for the world of X-Men to grow in the MCU because he’s a fan of the franchise: “I’m a genuine fan of the X-Men, all I want is for the movies to be as good as they should be.'“
The recently released synopsis for the film says: "That f–king irresponsible hero Deadpool will change the history of the MCU with Wolverine!?"
The film stars Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Emma Corrin as the villain Cassandra Nova, Morena Baccarin and Stefan Kapicic as Vanessa and Colossus, Matthew Macfadyen in an unknown role, Karan Soni as Dopinder, and Leslie Uggams as Blind Al. They are joined by Brianna Hildebrand, and Shioli Kutsuna will also return to the franchise as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Negasonic Teenage Warhead’s girlfriend Yukio. Rob Delaney will return as Peter and Jennifer Garner will return as Elektra in the movie. There’s also a long list of rumored cameos that may or may not appear in the movie.
Deadpool 3 will be written by Bob's Burgers' Wendy Molyneaux and Lizzie Molyneaux-Loeglin, with Deadpool and Deadpool 2 writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick also returning to contribute to the script.
