Will THE KARATE KID III’s Terry Silver Appear in YouTube's COBRA KAI Series?
After John Kreese (Martin Kove) made his way into the Cobra Kai series at the end of season one and was confirmed to play a big role throughout season two, it seemed like any character from the The Karate Kid universe could appear in the series!
When Kreese showed up, I’ve wondered if we would see Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) or any of the other characters from The Karate Kid Part III appear in the series, and during the Cobra Kai panel at WonderCon, the creators and writers were asked about that.
When asked by a fan if Silver or any of the other characters from The Karate Kid Part III would return for the series and join in on the fight, the writers and the producers wouldn’t confirm or deny. They just said that they are “very aware” of all of the characters in the universe and that they have “discussed all of them” in the writers room. I think the fact that they aren’t denying it speaks volumes.
They were asked about this twice, and it seemed like they were getting annoyed by the question. But they just gave the same answer as they don’t want to ruin it by giving away any details. But they did say “when” they do it, they will introduce the characters in a cool and unexpected way.
So, I sounds to me like it’s eventually going to happen. And who knows, maybe some of those characters from The Karate Kid Part II could show up as well!
The writers and producers also said that they have the scope of the entire series planned out in their minds, and they did mention that they’ve thought ahead five seasons, but they have yet to start working on season three. I imagine they are going to have to wait for the green light from YouTube before they start working on the new season.
They are also well aware that the fans want to see Daniel (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny (William Zabka) fight in the show, and they said that is something we will eventually see. They just wouldn’t say when because it’s a surprise! I just hope it happens by the end of season two!
Season two of the series will focus on the rivalry of two dojos — Johnny’s and Daniel’s, and it will also expand on the relationship between Johnny and Kreese, which sounds like it will be interesting. Johnny is also going to have some more very unconventional ways of teaching skills to his class, like training inside of a cement truck!
The upcoming season will also see the return of Tanner Buchanan (Johnny’s son Robby), Mary Mouser (Daniel’s daughter Samantha), Xolo Maridueña (Johnny’s student Miguel), and Jacob Bertrand (Miguel’s friend Eli “Hawk” Moskowitz).
I’m super stoked for Cobra Kai season two, and I can’t wait to see how this entire series plays out to the end!
