Warner Bros. is Moving Forward with FANTASTIC BEASTS 3 and Announce Shooting Location and Date

Warner Bros. is ready to get rolling on Fantastic Beasts 3. The project was delayed for several months as they figured out how they wanted to proceed. Well, the next chapter of the Fantastic Beasts franchise will commence in spring of 2020 and it will shoot in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

After the last film, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald fell short of expectations at the box office, a lot of fans wondered if the studio would move forward with the sequel. There’s been speculation that the studio has taken this time to revamp the franchise before moving forward with another costly iteration.

Fantastic Beasts 3 is set to hit theaters in November 2021, which roughly five years after the first film and three years after its sequel. There are also two other sequels that have been planned, all of which are set decades before the events of the Harry Potter storyline.

Harry Potter veteran David Yates is returning to helm the new movie from a script written by J.K. Rowling and the wonderful cast is set to return. Eddie Redmayne stars as Newt Scamander, Jude Law portrays a young Albus Dumbledore, and yes… Johnny Depp will be back as the villainous Gellert Grindelwald. The cast also includes Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, and Dan Fogler. Jessica Williams, who briefly appeared as Professor Eulalie “Lally” Hicks in The Crimes of Grindelwald, is expected to have a bigger role in the upcoming film.

What are you hoping to see from the next Fantastic Beasts film? What will get you into the theaters to watch it?
