Upcoming MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: MASTERVERSE Promises To Be Great For Old And New Fans Of HE-MAN

Whether you grew up watching He-Man or have just recently started to enjoy the franchise, you will want to check out this upcoming comic from Mattel and Dark Horse Comics. Masters of the Universe: Masterverse is going to be a 4 issue anthology series with issue 1 written by Tim Seeley, art by Eddie Nuñez, Sergio Aragonés, and Kelley Jones, and color by Rico Renzi and Brennan Wagner and it will also feature a variant cover by Mike Mignola and Dave Stewart. Here’s the official synopsis:

In the depths of Castle Grayskull, The Sorceress and Zodac debate the value of He-Man. To save the life of her champion, the Sorceress must take the Cosmic Enforcer on a tour of the multiverse. First, a tour across a world where a dim, barbaric He-Man bumbles through a world of annoying warrior goddesses and bored demons as he's pursued by a hungry green tiger in a tale drawn by the legendary Sergio Aragonés (Groo the Wanderer, Mad Magazine)! Then, a stop in an Eternia where the power of Grayskull summons an entirely different warrior in a horrific ghost story illustrated by Kelley Jones! Written by MotU alumni Tim Seeley (Injustice vs. Masters of the Universe, Masters of the Multiverse) with a framing story by Eddie Nuñez, this is an anthology series not to be missed!

It sounds like a really fun anthology series. I'm excited about the ghost story horror version of He-Man. According to Comic Watch, “If you've never been a He-Man fan, this is the book for you. You can learn all about the different versions of the property and pick the one you like, and go from there. If you're a hardcore fan, it's an absolute thrill to see the different versions of Masters interacting with each other. Bottom line: This is a great comic.” This is great for old and new fans, or fans like me who remember their older siblings watching it and playing with the toys but not knowing anything about the lore. I really appreciate getting more of these anthology type series for older shows that I remember enjoying to a certain degree but don’t remember a lot about them. It helps make it easier to get into the franchise when you don’t feel like you have to do homework to do so. Masters of the Universe: Masterverse #1 will be available on February 15, 2023 and is now available for preorder at your local comic shop.
