The Great War Is Coming in New Trailer for HBO's Fantasy Epic HIS DARK MATERIALS Season 2

HBO has shared a new trailer for the second season of its fantasy epic His Dark Materials. The new trailer teases changing worlds, an upcoming “Great War” that the characters need to prepare for, and something evil. It’s actually quite an exciting trailer that is sure to get fans even more excited to see the story continue! I loved the first season, and this next season looks like it will be even better!

The first season of the series follows Lyra (Dafne Keen), “a seemingly ordinary but brave young woman from another world. Lyra’s search for a kidnapped friend uncovers a sinister plot involving stolen children and becomes a quest to understand a mysterious phenomenon called Dust. As she journeys through the worlds, including our own, Lyra meets a determined and courageous boy called Will. Together they encounter extraordinary beings and dangerous secrets, with the fate of both the living — and the dead — in their hands.”

In the second season, “Lord Asriel (James McAvoy) has opened a bridge to a new world, and, distraught over the death of her best friend, Lyra follows Asriel into the unknown. In a strange and mysterious abandoned city, she meets Will (Amir Wilson), a boy from our world who is also running from a troubled past. Lyra and Will learn their destinies are tied to reuniting Will with his father but find their path is constantly thwarted as a war begins to brew around them. Meanwhile, Mrs. Coulter (Ruth Wilson) searches for Lyra, determined to bring her home by any means necessary.”

The series also stars Ariyon Bakare (Lord Boreal), Amir Wilson (Will), Lin-Manuel Miranda (Lee Scoresby), Andrew Scott (John Parry), Jade Anouka (Ruta Skadi), and Simone Kirby (Dr. Mary Malone).

His Dark Materials is available on HBO and to stream on HBO Max, and Season 2 is coming this fall.
