THE BOYS Spinoff Series GEN V Will Be "More Shocking" and Filled With "Really Crazy Sh*t"

Producer Seth Rogen is out hyping up The Boys spinoff series Gen V, and he describes it as being “more shocking” and filled with all kinds of “really crazy shit.” We got a little taste of that in the teaser trailer that was previously released.

The project is inspired by the G-Men, which is a parody of the X-Men in The Boys comic book series. “Set at America’s only college exclusively for young-adult superheroes (run by Vought International), Gen V is an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. It’s part college show, part Hunger Games — with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys.”

When talking about the shock factor of the series and some of his other projects, including The Boys Season 4 and Sausage Part: Foodtopia, Rogen explained to Empire that "every single one of them" has scenes that can go toe-to-toe with the most bonkers and insane moments from The Boys. He added:

“Gen V has some really crazy shit in it. The fact that they’re in college, they’re a little younger, makes it more shocking maybe. In general, if you’re making an R-rated thing, they let you do whatever the f*ck you want, unless there’s some real legal thing that they think you might be bumping against. With The Boys, maybe it requires one extra five-minutes phone call, where they’re like, ‘Really?’, and you’re like, ‘Really.’ There are other things you’re on hours of phone calls about that are so much less interesting than that.”

Rogen went on to talk about the craziness of Sausage Party: Foodtopia saying: “There’s one specific scene that had a special screening for the Amazon PR people. You should all just start wrapping your heads around this now. You’ll probably have to talk about this a lot.’”

He went on to say that the series will be “unbelievably shocking”, and it even caught the cast off guard. He added: “We had Kristen Wiig in picking up a few lines the other day, and I think we’ve all become desentized to it, because we’ll just be like, ‘Roll the scene!’, and then she was like, ‘Oh my God?! This is insane!’”

It sounds like Seth Rogen is enjoying his time playing around in the sandbox of vulgarity, debauchery, and ultra-violence.
