THE BOYS Spinoff GEN V Will Introduce Batman-Inspired Character and Series Could Set Up THE BOYS Season 4

Some interesting new information has surfaced from The Boys spinoff series Gen V. We recently got a new trailer for the show, which looks great, and now we’re learning from Entertainment Weekly that the series will introduce the world’s Batman-inspired character.

This character is named Tek Knight, and this will be his first appearance in the franchise after by mentioned in The Boys several times. Tek Knight will be played by Dereck Wilson, and he is a superhero known for his suit of high-tech armor and for being the mentee of his sidekick, Laddio. In the comic, he was a member of the team Payback.

Tek Knight was first mentioned in Season 1. "In a support group for average humans who've suffered as the collateral damage of superheroes, one woman mentions how Tek Knight saved her from a hostage situation, but he left her paralyzed when he inadvertently damaged her spine.”

It was also announced that Chace Crawford will reprise his The Boys role as The Deep in a cameo for Gen V. There are no other details on his role in the story, but he will return for the upcoming fourth season.

As for the timeline of Gen V, it was revealed that it’s set between the third and fourth seasons of The Boys, which means that the events of Gen V, could help set up the story for Season 4. It was explained on Twitter: “If we’re clearin up the timeline, @genv takes place between S3 and S4. So the kiddos at God U all saw Homelander laser a guy’s head off to the sound of thunderous applause.”

Gen V is inspired by the G-Men, which is a parody of the X-Men in The Boys comic book series. “Set at America’s only college exclusively for young-adult superheroes (run by Vought International), Gen V is an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. It’s part college show, part Hunger Games — with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys.”

Producer Seth Rogen previously described Gen V as being “more shocking” and filled with all kinds of “really crazy shit.” This trailer offers a little taste of what some of that crazy shit is.

Gen V stars Jaz Sinclair (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Chance Perdomo (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Lizze Broadway (Bones), Shelley Conn (Bridgerton), Maddie Phillips (Teenage Bounty Hunters), London Thor (Shameless), Derek Luh (Shining Vale), Asa Germann (Caviar), Patrick Schwarzenegger (The Staircase), Sean Patrick Thomas (Barbershop), Marco Pigossi (Invisible City), and Clancy Brown.

The series comes from Eric Kripke, and it was also announced that it will launch with its first three episodes on September 29th. New episodes will roll out weekly until the Season 1 finale on November 3rd.
