Sylvester Stallone is Set To Return For a Sequel To SAMARITAN

Amazon MGM Studios is developing a sequel to the 2022 superhero action movie Samaritan, and Sylvester Stallone will be coming back to reprise his role. The first movie was decent, but I didn’t really expect to see a sequel, so I’m kind of surprised by the news.

Bragi F. Schut, the writer of the first movie, has been hired to write the script for Samaritan 2. Stallone is returning as producer, as is his Balboa Productions partner Braden Aftergood.

The film was directed by Julius Avery, and the story follows “Thirteen-year-old Sam Cleary (Javon “Wanna” Walton) suspects that his mysterious and reclusive neighbor Mr. Smith (Stallone) is actually a legend hiding in plain sight. Twenty years ago, Granite City’s super-powered vigilante, Samaritan, was reported dead after a fiery warehouse battle with his rival, Nemesis. Most believe Samaritan perished in the fire, but some in the city, like Sam, have hope that he is still alive. With crime on the rise and the city on the brink of chaos, Sam makes it his mission to coax his neighbor out of hiding to save the city from ruin.”

There are no details on what the story for the sequel will tell, but it’ll be fun to see how they continue the story. Did you like the first movie, and are you excited about the sequel?
