Scoot McNairy Joins James McAvoy's Blumhouse Horror Film SPEAK NO EVIL
Scoot McNairy (Argo, Halt and Catch Fire) has joined the cast of Blumhouse and Universal’s upcoming psychological horror thriller Speak No Evil. He joins James McAvoy and Mackenzie Davis (Terminator: Dark Fate, Halt and Catch Fire) in the project, which is being developed by writer and director James Watkins.
The movie is a remake of the 2022 Danish film, the story of which revolves around a family who is invited for a weekend at an idyllic country house. It’s supposed to be a dream holiday that warps into a jacked-up psychological nightmare.
In the original 2022 movie, “On a vacation in Toscana, a Danish family instantly becomes friends with a Dutch family. Months later, the Danish couple receives an unexpected invitation. It doesn't take long before the joy of reunion is replaced with misunderstandings.”
What was supposed to be an idyllic weekend slowly starts unraveling as the Danes try to stay polite in the face of unpleasantness. The movie is actually a traumatizing and disturbing film, and I like the cast that is coming together for it!
Universal Pictures will release the movie on August 9th, 2024.
