New Posters For DUNE: PART TWO Put a Spotlight on The Main Characters
Here’s a collection of new posters from Dune: Part Two and they spotlight the main characters in this second chapter of the story. The character posters include Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides, Zendaya as Chani, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Dave Bautista as Beast Rabban, Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot, Stellan Skarsgård as The Baron, and Christopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam IV.
Dune is a mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, and tells the story of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet), “a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive.”
This next chapter of the story will explore the “mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.”
Villeneuve previously talked about the movie, saying he wanted it to have a lot of heart, and he wanted to make a very human film. He explained: “I wanted to make a very human movie, very close to the characters, despite the scope of the film. I kept saying to my crew, ‘The most important thing is that spark, that relationship between both of these characters.’ If we don’t capture that, if we don’t have that onscreen, there’s no movie. The epicenter of the story is this relationship.”
Villeneuve is currently developing a third movie titled Dune Messiah, which will be his final film in the franchise.
The film will now be released on March 1, 2024.
