Fans are starting to get revved up again for all the projects that we were hoping to get news on this year at Comic-Con. Last year was epic, and we got the whole Marvel Phase 4 roll out that got us totally pumped for the coming years. But things were put on hold when the pandemic hit back in March, and we have all been waiting to see what will happen since then.

So it’s good to hear that we’ve got some good news on the upcoming sequel, Thor: Love and Thunder, from one of the film’s stars, Natalie Portman, who will be returning as Jane Foster and will be wielding the hammer herself, as Thor. Portman revealed on tennis superstar Serena Williams’ Instagram account that the plan is to begin shooting the film in Australia at the beginning of next year. This would make the planned 2022 release date totally attainable.

The film also welcomes back Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Taika Waititi as Korg, and the director of the film, and Christian Bale is joining the cast as the yet to be revealed villain in this storyline.

As of right now, things can always change, but hopefully the movie gets off the ground at the start of 2021, and we can see Thor: Love and Thunder in theaters on February 11, 2022!
