Michael Shannon Joins the Cast of Limited Series NINE PERFECT STRANGERS at Hulu
Actor Michael Shannon, best known for his roles in Revolutionary Road, Boardwalk Empire, The Shape of Water, and Knives Out, has joined the cast of the upcoming limited series, Nine Perfect Strangers, that’s heading to Hulu. The series is based on the book by Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty. David E. Kelley is back on board to executive-produce this project after the success of his last collaboration with Moriarty.
Kelley co-wrote the adapted script with John Henry Butterworth and Samantha Strauss, and the series is being directed by Jonathan Levine (50/50, Warm Bodies, Long Shot).
Shannon joins the already cast Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, Luke Evans, Samara Weaving, Grace Van Patten, Asher Keddie, Manny Jacinto, Melvin Gregg, and Tiffany Boone. “Shannon will play Napoleon, one of the nine ‘perfect’ strangers. In the book, Heather (Keddie) and Napoleon are a married couple who lost a twin son.”
Here’s the synopsis:
Nine Perfect Strangers the series takes place at a boutique health-and-wellness resort that promises healing and transformation as nine stressed city dwellers try to get on a path to a better way of living. Watching over them during this ten-day retreat is the resort’s director Masha (played by Kidman), a woman on a mission to reinvigorate their tired minds and bodies.
I am a huge Liane Moriarty fan, and I can’t wait to check this series out. Nine Perfect Strangers is set to hit Hulu sometime in 2021.
