Liv Tyler Joins Marvel's CAPTAIN AMERICA: NEW WORLD ORDER Reprising Her Role as Betty Ross
Liv Tyler has been cast in Marvel Studios’ Captain America: New World Order, and she is set to reprise her role as Betty Ross! I was wondering if Marvel would ever bring her back into the fold after appearing in the 2008 film The Incredible Hulk, and 15 years later… she’s returning to the MCU!
Betty Ross is the daughter of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, a military official who was previously played by William Hurt. The character is now being played by Harrison Ford, and Ross will be the President of the United States in the movie.
Tyler joins Anthony Mackie in the film along with Danny Ramirez, who is playing Joaquin Torres; Carl Lumbly, who is playing Isaiah Bradley; and Tim Blake Nelson will also return as The Leader.
While there aren’t many story details to share in regard to the story, it was previously explained that it will see Captain America face off with Thunderbolt Ross. Producer Nate Moore said: "Harrison Ford is taking on the role of General Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross, and to see Sam Wilson and Thunderbolt Ross, which if you remember actually threw him in prison at the end of Civil War because he violated the Sokovia Accords. There's going to be some natural sparks there, which I think are going to be really fun."
Captain America: New World Order is one of the upcoming Phase Five films in the MCU. Julius Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox) is set to direct the film from a script penned by Dalan Musson and Malcolm Spellman, both of whom wrote for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Spellman will produce with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.
New World Order hits theaters on May 3, 2024. What do you think about Liv Tyler returning to Marvel!?
