JOKER: FOLIE À DEUX Photos Feature Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga as Arthur Fleck and Dr. Harleen Quinzel
Director Todd Phillips has shared two new photos from the highly anticipated film Joker: Folie à Deux. One of the images features Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck locked away inside of a cell, and the second one Lady Gaga’s Dr. Harleen Quinzel staring at Fleck, who is all decked out in his Joker facepaint and outfit.
The photos came with the following note from the director: “Wishing everyone a happy holiday and a beautiful new year. Oct 2024 #Joker2.”
While a lot of superheroes and comic book movies have bombed at the box office recently, this is one movie that I think is going to do well again. The way Phillips is handling The Joker is just so different, unique, and out of the box, and that’s the kind of moviegoing experience that audiences are looking for.
The Joker sequel will be a musical and its story will mostly be set in Arkham Asylum. The film’s working title, Joker: Folie à Deux, refers to the clinical term for the “shared madness,” hallucinations, and delusions of two people.
The movie also stars Zazie Beetz as Sophie Dumond, with Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, and Brendan Gleeson who will be playing undisclosed characters
Warner Bros. will release the film in theaters on October 4th, 2024.
