James Gunn Casts Pom Klementieff and Miriam Shor in SUPERMAN: LEGACY
Update: James Gunn says this casting report from The Hollywood Reporter is not true. He said: “Despite Pom being one of my favorite actors to work with, this is 100% not true. Not only is Pom not in the movie, but no one has ever even discussed her being in the movie, nor do I have any idea what role she would possibly play.”
The filmmaker added: "I'd like to find a place for Miriam in the DCU, maybe even in Legacy, but she isn't presently cast in anything." Gunn also shared: "I honest to God can't imagine where the Pom thing came from. It's so weird to me. Usually the actual trades aren't this far off." He also confirmed that there is "one thousand percent" a role for Klementieff in the DCU, but it is 'a specific character that has nothing to do with Superman Legacy."
James Gunn has cast Pom Klementieff and Miriam Shor in his upcoming DC Studios film Superman: Legacy. Both previously worked with Gunn on Guardians of the Galaxy with Klementieff having played Mantis in the MCU, while Shor appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as Recorder Vim, one of the henchwomen of The High Evolutionary.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t revealed who they will be playing in the movie. They will join the previously cast David Corenswet as Clark Kent / Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt / Mr. Terrific, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, and María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica, aka The Engineer.
The movie is going to have a huge cast and the filmmaker recently defended that saying: "What single-protagonist movie doesn’t have more than ten speaking roles?" Gunn asked. "There will be more."
Superman: Legacy will tell the story of “Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.”
Superman: Legacy will launch the movie part of DC Studios’ Gods and Monsters: Part 1. It’s scheduled for a theatrical release on July 11, 2025.
