Jack Nicholson Made Anywhere Up To $90 Million For Playing Joker in Tim Burton's BATMAN

It turns out that Jack Nicholson ended up making a hell of a lot of money from playing The Joker in Tim Burton’s Batman despite reducing his normal salary. At that time, Nicholson’s asking price to star in a movie was $10 million.

According to Far Out Magazine, Nicholson’s involvement in the film was a must. He was necessary so that Burton could make the Batman film that he envisioned. Nicholson knew that the film was going to be a big hit, so when he negotiated he asked for $6 million upfront, along with a cut of the film’s box office and merchandising profits.

That might have been the smartest move that Nicolson made in his career because from that deal he made anywhere up to $90 million dollars, which would be around $200 million today with inflation. Batman made over $400 million in box office.

I’ve gotta say that Nicholson earned every bit of that money. He was freakin’ awesome in the role of Joker!
