Hugh Jackman Is a Private Investigator of the Mind in Trailer for the Sci-Fi Noir REMINISCENCE
Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for Hugh Jackman’s cool-looking new film project Reminiscence. The movie is a sci-fi noir film that comes from Westworld creator Lisa Joy, who made her feature film directorial debut with the movie.
Jackson plays a private investigator of the mind named Nick Bannister, and he ends up falling in love with his new client. After she suddenly disappears, he sets out on a journey to find her. Along the way, he uncovers some dark aspects about her.
In the story, Bannister “navigates the darkly alluring world of the past by helping his clients access lost memories. Living on the fringes of the sunken Miami coast, his life is forever changed when he takes on a new client, Mae. A simple matter of lost and found becomes a dangerous obsession. As Bannister fights to find the truth about Mae’s disappearance, he uncovers a violent conspiracy, and must ultimately answer the question: how far would you go to hold on to the ones you love?”
Rebecca Ferguson also stars in the film, she and Jackman previously worked together on The Greatest Showman. They are joined by Thandiwe Newton (Westworld), Cliff Curtis (Hobbs & Shaw), Marina de Tavira (Roma), Daniel Wu (Warcraft), Mojean Aria (See), Brett Cullen (Joker), Natalie Martinez (The Stand), Angela Sarafyan (Westworld), and Nico Parker (Dumbo).
Reminiscence was written and directed by Lisa Joy, and she produced the film alongside Jonathan Nolan, Michael De Luca, and Aaron Ryder.
The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters and on HBO Max on August 20, 2021.
