Harrison Ford Will Also Appear in CAPTAIN AMERICA: NEW WORLD ORDER as General “Thunderbolt” Ross

It’s already been announced that Harrison Ford will be taking on the role of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and that he would appear in the Thunderbolts movie.

We’ve now learned that Ford will also show up in Captain America: New World Order. He’ll star alongside Anthony Mackie, Shira Haas, Tim Blake Nelson, and Carl Lumbly.

General Ross is a top-ranking military official, first introduced in the Marvel comics in 1962, who comes to lead the team of antiheroes known as the Thunderbolts. William Hurt previously played the character and made his debut in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. He appeared various times in the MCU, including 2021’s Black Widow, prior to his passing in March.

Julius Onah is set to direct the film from a script penned by Dalan Musson and Malcolm Spellman, both of whom wrote for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Spellman will produce with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.

We don’t have any story details to share, but Captain America: New World Order opens in theaters on May 3rd, 2024.
