First Trailer For Steven Soderbergh’s THE LAUNDROMAT with Meryl Streep, Gary Oldman and More

Netflix has released the first trailer for director Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming film project The Laundromat, and it uncovers a global conspiracy involving the elite and how they keep the power and money that they have acquired.

The film is based on Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jake Bernstein‘s nonfiction book, Secrecy World: Inside the Panama Papers Investigation of Illicit Money Networks and the Global Elite. The film centers on a widow (Meryl Streep) as she investigates an insurance fraud, “chasing leads to a pair of Panama City law partners (Gary Oldman and Antonio Banderas) exploiting the world’s financial system.”

The movie has a fantastic ensemble cast that also includes Sharon Stone, Robert Patrick, David Schwimmer, and Jeffrey Wright. Soderbergh developed the film with screenwriter Scott Z. Burns and they’ve worked on a few projects together like Contagion and Side Effects.

The Laundromat looks like it’ll be another great and entertaining film from Soderbergh and I’m looking forward to seeing it! The movie will begin a theatrical rollout on September 27th, before debuting on Netflix on October 18th.

Watch the trailer and let us know if it looks like a film that you’d enjoy watching.
