David Goyer and Jonah Nolan Writing Next BATMAN Movie?

As reported last week, screenwriter David Goyer will be stepping down as showrunner for ABC's Flash Forward, to once again concentrate on features. As of last month, Goyer had already finished the R to PG-13 "polish up" of his 9-year old script for the sequel/reboot of Ghost Rider, entitled Spirit of Vengeance; and back in October Goyer said that Magneto is still a go, but that Fox is so busy with the several different X-Men projects that they are developing (Deadpool, First Class, Wolverine 2), that he's not quite sure when they will want to move forward with it.

So what is he dropping everything for to start work on? It's very likely that he could start work on Magneto, but mentioned quite quickly in Deadline Hollywood's write up on Goyer's TV exit, they said:

Goyer's feature career is really heating up, since he co-wrote Batman Begins, and penned the story for The Dark Knight, and is now writing the third Batman installment with Chris Nolan's brother Jonah.

This is very cool news!!!! I just hope we get some confirmation soon.

I'm not a big fan of Goyer's solo work, but he collaborates well with others. I'm sure you are well aware of Goyer's work (Blade Trilogy, Dark City), but Jonah (or Jonathan on IMDB) has mainly collaborated with his brother Christopher, co-writing The Prestige, and The Dark Knight, while Memento was based off of a short story written by Jonah.

As for Goyer's departure from his hit Flash Forward, Goyer said in a statement,

As my feature projects have started ramping up again, I felt I was being pulled in too many directions. I'm proud of the show and excited about the relaunch. It's in great hands.

It is still unknown who exactly will take over as showrunner.

What do you think of Goyer and Nolan likely starting work on BATMAN 3?
