Crazy Intense Trailer for Hulu Thriller MOTHER/ANDROID Starring Chloë Grace Moretz
Hulu has released the crazy intense trailer for their original thriller Mother/Android starring Chloë Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass, The Equalizer, Greta) and Algee Smith (Euphoria, Judas and the Black Messiah) as a couple trying to survive an AI apocalypse while trying to get to safety before she delivers their baby.
The film is written and directed by Mattson Tomlin, who wrote the upcoming film The Batman and last year’s Little Fish. It is being produced by The Batman director Matt Reeves, Adam Kassan, and Rafi Crohn.
Tomlin has previously said that the film is a sci-fi take on the story of his own parents who worked "to save their child amid the dangers of the Romanian Revolution." He explained in a statement:
"Mother/ Andriod is a deeply personal story inspired by sacrifices made to bring me into this world. I'm thrilled to be working with Miramax and my friend Matt Reeves to tell a story that speaks to the strength of humanity in the darkest of times."
Here’s the film’s synopsis:
"Set in the near future, the sci-fi thriller drama follows Georgia and her boyfriend Sam through their treacherous journey of escape as their country is caught in an unexpected war with artificial intelligence. Days away from the arrival of their first child, they must face No Man's Land—a stronghold of the android uprising, in hopes of reaching safety before giving birth."
This trailer really caught me off guard. I’m so used to zombie content that moves so slowly, and the pace of this film and the robotic people who are after them made it so much more scary and made me feel such urgency for their situation.
Check out the trailer below, and watch Mother/Android when it debuts on Hulu on Friday, December 17th.
