Cobra Kai is just hitting its stride in its new home at Netflix, with the show’s third season hitting the number one spot, and fans getting pumped for a fourth season that the last one left us begging for. The show’s two main characters, Daniel (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny (William Zabka), finally united in the final episode of the season, as they were able to find some clarity in their visit with an old flame, and in their united fight against their common enemy, Cobra Kai sensei John Kreese (Martin Kove).

The creators of the show recently spoke to ComicBook about Daniel and Johnny and their trajectory for the fourth season, saying:

"You've seen Johnny and Daniel interact for a few seasons now and a movie wave way, way, way back when, and you've seen glimpses of them being able to get along and be on the same page and you've seen them throw fists on a dime," Hurwitz told us. "So anything is possible with the two of them together. They're united against the common enemy right now. And their intentions are all positive with what they want to do, but let's see what it's like for these two guys working together with the same goal, with their different approaches. Can they join forces in a way that is going to be productive and smooth sailing, or will there be bumps in the road? And that's what people are going to have to look forward to during season four."

"That's the fun of it," added Schlossberg. "Obviously they're together, but they couldn't have more opposite ideologies still and so there's a lot still to work out even though they may be on the same team."

Before this season dropped, Macchio said in an interview that Daniel and Johnny are like Ross and Rachel. You see in the first season that they have the potential of being a great pair, but they just can’t get it together, and they had to both learn a lot before fans could see them come together, and it looks like Season 4 will be their time. It has been fun to see how far they’ve come, and to see them soften when talking out their feelings with Ali (Elisabeth Shue) at the end of Season 3. I think Season 4 is going to be awesome, and I can’t wait to get into it!
