Brief Synopsis for DEADPOOL 3 Teases Deadpool Will "Change the History of the MCU"
Marvel Studios has released a new synopsis for Deadpool 3. The synopsis comes from Marvel Japan, and while it’s brief it packs the kind of punch that you’d expect from a Deadpool movie.
The synopsis reads: "That f–king irresponsible hero Deadpool will change the history of the MCU with Wolverine!?"
It will be interesting to see how this Deadpool and Wolverine adventure plays out, but we all know for sure it’s going to be a wild and bonkers ride!
When previously talking about the film, director Shawn Levy said it will have as much heart and emotion as his other films, including Free Guy, The Adam Project, and Real Steel:
"I'm gonna say this: f**kload more than you think. I'm so wary... but one thing Ryan and I were very really united in was wanting to make Deadpool 3 very much consistent and continuous with the franchise DNA, but to see where we could evolve in this third movie."
Levy went on to explain that the "evolution" of the Deadpool movie franchise was a challenge easy to meet – once they settled on one key detail of the story:
"Once we knew it was a Wolverine/Deadpool movie, my god! What a gift to any storyteller. Because not only do you have two icon actors playing their most iconic roles, but you have two characters whose dynamic is already famously fraught. And anytime you're dealing with characters who start from a place of deep dislike and conflict and difference from each other... the mouth [Deadpool], and the like surly laconic man of few words [Wolverine], what a great formula for storytelling. And ultimately the movie does have much more character, depth, and heart than I think anyone is expecting."
The film stars Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Emma Corrin as the villain Cassandra Nova, Morena Baccarin and Stefan Kapicic as Vanessa and Colossus, Matthew Macfadyen in an unknown role, Karan Soni as Dopinder, and Leslie Uggams as Blind Al. They are joined by Brianna Hildebrand, and Shioli Kutsuna will also return to the franchise as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Negasonic Teenage Warhead’s girlfriend Yukio. Rob Delaney will return as Peter and Jennifer Garner will return as Elektra in the movie. There’s also a long list of rumored cameos that may or may not appear in the movie.
Deadpool 3 will be written by Bob's Burgers' Wendy Molyneaux and Lizzie Molyneaux-Loeglin, with Deadpool and Deadpool 2 writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick also returning to contribute to the script.
Deadpool 3 is expected in theaters on July 26, 2024.
