Big New Detail Revealed For Thandie Newton's HAN SOLO Movie Character

Director Ron Howard has shared a new photo from the set of the Han Solo movie. The photo features Westworld actress Thandie Newton and if you are paying attention to the details in the photo, there's a big reveal regarding her character in the movie.

I'm not sure if Howard meant to tease the reveal of this certain aspect of her character, but it's too late now! If you don't want to know this one detail in this photo pointed out to you, don't read ahead.

Howard reveals in the photo that Newton has wrapped on the reshoots for the movie in which she was included in several new scenes. Now, if you look at Howard's hand of the shoulder Thandie, his hand is covering up a patch. You can easily tell that patch features the logo of the Empire. This means that Newton's character is part of the Empire, unless she's an undercover spy or something. Here's a close-up...

With these new details, fans are speculating on who she might be playing. One of the most popular theories out there is that she might be playing a character named Rae Sloane. Here are the details on her character:

Rae Sloane was a Female Imperial Captain who commanded the Star Destroyer Ultimatum during the Civil War temporarily until actually put in the position by the Emperor himself. She was still serving years later after the Battle of Endor near the planet of Akiva, an Admiral serving on the Vigilance. Eventually she became part of Fleet Admiral Gallius Rax's Shadow Council as a Grand Admiral. During this time, she was officially the leader of the Galactic Empire but Gallius Rax gave her orders as her "aide". She went with Commandant Brendol Hux to the unknown regions where the first seeds of the First Order were planted.

Personally, I think whoever Newton is playing in the film will be a new character in the Star Wars universe. She's obviously involved with the Empire somehow, we just don't know if she's a friend or a foe. We'll just have to wait and see.

The Han Solo spinoff will be released in theaters on May 25, 2018.
